Abstract

Defense “contracts” within the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry are complex ensemble of systems and sub-systems that are usually integrated by a prime contractor. This is often a large enterprise that manages a large supply chain to obtain and deliver an end-to-end product/service as per requirement.

In this scenario we end up with hundreds of suppliers and suppliers of suppliers at different level. This is what we call the extended enterprise. Working in this environment implies also share risks with and delegate responsibilities to the supply chain. The tier 1 up to tier n suppliers become risk partners.

The working place for all the actors is the network, therefore it is mandatory that in each step of the value chain, we know who does what, when and why. This is needed for the lifecycle of the product/service in scope of the contract. The control of such complex supply chain and lifecycle becomes complicate if we add all the processes related to compliance, data protection, access control to sensitive data and protection of the Intellectual Property (IP).

Identity and Access Management technology in a collaborative environment helps the industry to manage such contracts efficiently and at the adequate level of security and that is what this speech is all about.

Biographie

Cristiano Borrelli, born in Torino (Italy) is a Senior Manager and certified Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt working at EADS CASSIDIAN CYBER SECURITY in Munich. Cristiano holds a full degree in Aeronautics and Space Technology from the Politecnico di Torino (Italy), and has an extensive experience in re-engineering processes to streamline operations and enhance both efficiency and effectiveness.
